避孕套也普遍称为避孕工具或橡胶套，是一种由菲薄的乳胶、绵羊盲肠或塑料所制成的鞘套。它被成型为手套的手指状，性交时配戴于阴茎上。因为它在射精后盛纳男方的精液，女方就不能怀孕。
尽管避孕套有显著的优点，但是一些人拒绝使用它，一来是因为在双方做爱时不愿意费神去配戴，二来是因为他们断言它会使性的感觉变得迟钝起来。可是，最新的避孕套是如此之薄以至于这种抱怨比从前更没有理由。某些人对乳胶过敏，但现在有非乳胶避孕套可供其使用。所以：全盘地考虑来看，避孕套仍旧是最简捷和最安全的，并由此而是最好的避孕工具之一。此外，避孕套也在对抗性传播疾病方面发挥保护作用。避孕套并不贵，勿需处方就可以从药房、药店和公共自动售套机买到。

Condom
The condom, also popularly known as prophylactic or rubber, is a sheath made of thin latex, gut, or plastic. It is shaped like the finger of a glove and it is worn over the penis during sexual intercourse. Because it catches and retains the man's sperm after ejaculation, the woman cannot become pregnant.
Despite its obvious advantages, some people object to the condom either because they do not like the procedure of putting it on during their love-play or because they claim that it dulls their sensation. However, the newest condoms are so thin that this complaint is less valid than before. Some people are allergic to latex, but for them non-latex condoms are now available. Therefore: All things considered, the condom is still one of the simplest, safest, and therefore best contraceptives available. Moreover, it also provides some protection against sexually transmitted diseases. Condoms are not expensive and can
be bought without a prescription in pharmacies, drugstores, or from public vending machines.
