先天性肾上腺增生性肥大是如何遗传的?

先天性肾上腺增生性肥大患儿从其父母遗传有两个异常的基因,也就是说,从父母各遗传一个异常基因。就像在大多数病例那样,当父母的一方只有一个这样的异常基因时,父母双方本身可能没有临床症状。所以,父母只是先天性肾上腺增生性肥大显性基因携带者。不过,甚至于如此也并不必定意味着他们会将异常基因遗传给子女。事实上,不会遗传上这个基因的几率是1/4,也就是说,如果他们有4个孩子,只有一个会患上先天性肾上腺增生性肥大(即只有一个孩子会显现出临床症状,但是另有两个孩子会是这个异常基因的携带者。——译者注)。尽管总人口中异常基因携带者约占2%,这就解释了为什么先天性肾上腺增生性肥大在临床上非常罕见的原因。

How is CAH inherited?

Children with CAH have two abnormal genes inherited from their parents, i.e. one from each parent. The parents themselves may not have the condition when, as in most cases, each of them has only one of these genes. Thus, they are only “carriers of the CAH trait”. However, even this does not necessarily mean that they will pass it on to all of their children. In fact, the odds are one in four, i.e. if they have four children, only one will have CAH. This explains why CAH is quite rare, although ca. 2% of the general population are carriers.
