1. The condom is taken from the package carefully in order to avoid tearing. 2. After pulling back the foreskin, the condom is put on top of the erect penis. 3. The air is pressed out of the reservoir and the condom is rolled down. 4. The condom is rolled down all the way to the bottom of the penis shaft. 5. After ejaculation, the penis is withdrawn while one hand prevents the condom from slipping off. 6. The best way to dispose of a used condom is to throw it into a garbage pail.

Correct Condom Use
The condom offers very good protection if used properly. It must be put on the erect penis before vaginal, anal, or oral intercourse (not just before ejaculation). At the tip of the penis, some space (a reservoir) has to be left to accommodate the expected semen. However, any air in this reservoir or “safety space” must be pressed out first in order to prevent an air bubble that could cause some pain to the glans. Immediately after ejaculation, the man must withdraw his penis before losing his erection, holding on to the condom at its base so that it cannot slip off. Condom use can be made easier by putting some water-based lubricant on the outside of the condom after it is in place on the penis. However, please note: Lubricants containing oil or fat (vegetable oil, butter, vaseline, hand lotion, etc.) can quickly destroy the condom.
